The AgBioData Ambassador Program

Spread awareness and knowledge of FAIR data management in agricultural research

The AgBioData consortium brings together expertise in data generation and management to promote the development and implementation of best data-sharing practices in agricultural research. We invite active members of current or past AgBioData working groups to become AgBioData Ambassadors and help us spread the consortium’s recommendations and deliverables at relevant scientific conferences. 

We will provide six stipends of up to $2000 per year for individuals presenting AgBioData work, particularly outcomes from the working groups. Applications for the Ambassador Program will be received twice per year (first deadline: March 31; second deadline: September 30) and should include

  1. the conference where the work will be presented,
  2. the talk title and abstract,
  3. the relevance of both the presentation content and the conference choice for AgBioData.

Only one award will be granted per conference, and applicants can only receive one award per year.

 

Eligibility

  • You must be an active member of a current or past AgBioData working group or steering committee.

  • You must be from a US institution.

  • You must present a talk or poster about AgBioData (e.g., working group products, an overview of the consortium’s efforts and recommendations, etc.) or represent the consortium.

  • The conference/meeting must be one at which it makes sense for AgBioData to have a presence.

  • If $2000 does not cover the conference costs, you must have confirmed support for the remaining balance. 

  • Airfare must comply with NSF requirements (US carriers only), and housing/stipend allowance must conform to the US government's per diem rate.

 

Application and Evaluation Process

  • Submit your application by completing this form by March 30/September 30

  • After the submission deadline, the applications will be sent and reviewed by an internal panel, and a decision will be made within 2 weeks.
