AgBioData Curriculum for Ag FAIR Data:
Curriculum Implementation/Development Awards
FAIR Education for all
The AgBioData Curriculum for Ag FAIR Data: Implementation/Development Program supports individuals who wish to implement and/or contribute to the “AgBioData Curriculum for Ag FAIR Data,” a modular curriculum developed by the AgBioData Education working group for educators teaching the basics of biological databases and the Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR) principles to undergraduate and graduate students.
The curriculum includes lesson modules designed around core concepts and specific learning objectives for using databases according to the FAIR principles in biology and agricultural research. The slides, video recordings, and suggested activities are open-access and ready for download at https://zenodo.org/records/14278084.
Activities supported by this program include:
-
Implementation of the curriculum as it is or a subset of modules into existing courses
-
Addition of new modules and/or revisions/modifications to existing modules (including translation into other languages or the preparation of additional lesson plans on new related topics)
-
User focus groups or individuals as curriculum reviewers (pending approval of the AgBioData steering committee).
Five awards, each worth up to $600, will be granted each year. Applicants are expected to share feedback and course evaluations and contribute any modifications/changes/additions to the AgBioData Zenodo archive.
